PM's Scholarship
In 2022 the Trust applied for the highly contested Prime Ministers scholarship program to build connections in Indonesia to learn more about Bamboo as an alternative to forestry on their East Coast whenua, to connect with a global educators network at The Green School in Bali and spend time with the Sasak indigenous peoples of Lombok Island.
The proposal was successful for an immersive six week learning period and nine places were offered to her whānau including rangatahi and kaumatua as well as two mokopuna for six weeks immersion to connect and learn in Asia
To lead this as the first whānau trust in the history of the program is an honour as it is hoped it will be a catalyst to open pathways for all those in the community to grow and learn in meaningful ways. More information on the scholarship opportunity here.
