Erana was an advocate of Education, Māoritanga and community and her legacy and mana is what we strive to uphold in this generation and beyond. Our pepeha continues to guide our activities, and embodies all that is Ngāti Porou, our whakapapa, taonga and place in te ao hurihuri:
Ko Hikurangi Te Maunga
Ko Te Aowera te hapū
Ko Ngāti Porou te Iwi
Ko Erana Kaunga Tuhura te whānau

We identify that our people are a site of focus and investment, largely in education, health and housing.
We take an active role in the responsibilities to our whenua, maunga, awa and are a part of positive whenua development.
We recognise the commitment it takes to care for our taonga however we believe we must not lock away what we have been given and ensure that our pieces are used and live.
